Surrey Web Design and Development

Historical local service writing, preserved with its date and a current scope worksheet.

Original by Simon Lockyer · . The worked examples and guidance above the original text are a new editorial edition from 20 October 2026.

Plan a website around one useful task

The historical offer below belongs to its original publication date. Its prices, availability and hosting terms are not a current quotation. For a new brief, define the scope before comparing prices.

A brief you can use

Purpose: What should a visitor be able to do?
Audience: Who is the page for, and what do they already know?
Content: Who supplies text, images and permissions?
Pages: List essential pages and their tasks.
Features: Search, forms, payments or integrations required?
Acceptance: Phone, keyboard, accessibility, links and loading checks.
Handover: Source files, domain access, hosting, updates and ownership.
Budget: Build cost, recurring cost and optional work separately.
Maintenance: Who handles faults and how is urgent work agreed?

Compare like with like

A build price alone cannot tell you the total cost. Ask which revisions, content work, licences, hosting, maintenance and handover are included. Agree measurable acceptance checks and who owns the files before the work begins. Do not assume an archived studio partnership or a past service offer is still available.

I try to offer the very best award winning website services to my clients as i can. I try to operate on a negotiation/barter system when taking on new work with clients based in Surrey. I like to serve and help my local community and in doing so providing the most affordable web design prices I can. If you need a new website and have a service to offer you think I may benefit from please don’t hesitate to contact me, no matter what the service is.

Every website i create is bespoke to the individual client, meaning there needs to be a good understanding relationship between the web designer (me) and the client (you). I invoke the use of the very best and innovative techniques in creating my website to ensure that all of the clients needs are met.

I have recently been nominated for 6 web design awards. I try to transfer my award winning design techniques to my clients meaning they end up with only the best web design, which in turn could win awards.
